Our Timeline
We met during the blizzard of 2010 and, after losing touch for a couple years, we reconnected during the summer of 2015. Here's a pic from that beautiful day!
In the words of Buddy the Elf, "Smiling's my favorite!" We both love to have fun, take adventures, travel, hike, laugh, play one-on-one basketball, watch movies, eat, laugh some more, and ride roller coasters. Here is a pic of our annual trip to Six Flags Great America, Fright Fest.
As stated above, we love to hike and enjoy the outdoors. This picture was taken during the Fall of 2015 at Starved Rock where we hiked, had a picnic lunch in LaSalle Canyon, and were both nearly killed by the strangest orange spider we have ever seen!
If you received an invitation to this wedding, then you are fully aware of our collective nerdom!
Prior to Star Wars: The Force Awakens (which released in December 2015), our family got together over Thanksgiving weekend at my house and watched all six existing episodes of Star Wars. That's right, all six! We even got dressed up for it...as evidenced by these....dare I say amazing....pictures. Doni is dressed up as Darth Vader and Juan is Kylo Ren.

Christmas is one of our favorite times of the year. We celebrate Christmas Eve with my whole family - aunt's, uncles, cousins, second cousins, errrrbody comes! And the Christmas of 2015 had a very special appearance from Santa aka Juan dressed as a chubby guy in a red suit.
We spend time with all of our family during Christmas - here's a pic from Christmas brunch with my papi - something we hope to make an annual tradition.
This is the first time we put up our Christmas tree together!
New Years Eve was marked by bumper cars, roller coasters, a huge gorilla, basketball, video games, laughter, learning a ton about communication, more laughter, and awesome time with the family.
On a warm winter day in 2016, we made our way to Northerly Island and had a blast! We walked, talked, pet beautiful huskies, flipped, ran, and had the most fun!
Doni's never really had a dog and was always hesitant to get one. In March of 2016, we visited an anti-cruelty shelter and fell in love with Logan, the best dog ever! He's been a part of the family ever since and just celebrated his first birthday.
On a warm day in the Spring of 2016, we decided to take a bide ride to Navy Pier. By the end we were sore, exhausted, Doni nearly got hit by a car, and we were a bit cranky, but all in all we had a good time. The trip was definitely memorable!
Richie, Doni's nephew, graduated in May 2016 from the University of Wisconsin Madison (Go Badgers!). We made a weekend family trip out of the occasion and had a blast! Here are some pics from the weekend.
For Juan's birthday in July 2016, Doni decided to take him on a fun-filled day of surprises.
The first stop was brunch at one of our favorite spots, the Bongo Room.
Next we went to the beach and, true to our nerdish spirits, we sang Christmas songs while dancing in the water. Don't judge.
We then went to see Tarzan in IMAX, which was absolutely amazing!!
The movie was followed by dinner with the family and Doni stood up to lead a choir of 100 Navy Pier strangers in the happy birthday song to Juan.
The day ended with a double rainbow in the sky after beautiful warm rain showers.
It was a beautiful birthday for the love of my life!
Our family took a camping trip during the summer and decided to have a nerf war. We came in full battle fatigues and took no prisoners. Not one single prisoner.
